10 Things You Should Know Before Backpacking In Thailand

Kelly Iverson’s own experiences in Thailand have given her some wisdom that she hopes to impart to readers. Here she lists her top 10 things she thinks people should know before they take a trip to Thailand.
She begins with a humorous warning of “Everyone is trying to rip you off.” But quickly moves into other useful tips, such as: useful words and phrases to remember while in Thailand along with their correct conjugations for use with women and men, some cultural norms to follow that may not be apparent to readers (don’t put your feet up, don’t walk around wearing hardly anything, be prepared for the phenomenon known as “Thai time”), and some warnings about bug spray in sunscreen: In short bring/buy them.
But despite her warnings, she reminds you, in the end, to have fun and just say “mai pen rai”.
