Popular budget chain Premier has made its debut in Thailand, opening its maiden hotel in the country. Premier Inn had earlier stated that its first venture in hotel business in the country would in Bangkok, the capital, in mid 2016. However, the property has been slated to open either by the year end or by the early part of 2017. Nevertheless, the Premier Inn Pattaya, a 10-minute walk from Pattaya beach, is the maiden Thai hotel with 164 bedrooms.
Meanwhile, the Whitebread-owned company has also entered into a tie-up for Premier Inn branded hotels in other places like Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Phuket and Koh Samui, promising a prominent presence for the group in the country in the days ahead. Premier Inn already has two hotels in Indonesia, three in India and six in the UAe, while it is planning an additional 50 hotels in the Asia Pacific and Middle East by 2020.
