
Depending on the policy and conventions, a child born on an aircraft has many options for nationality. Some take the country of registration of the plane, the country whose airspace the child is born over, the mom or dad’s nationality or even country the plane landed after the birth. Many airlines have policies to prevent pregnant women flying at the end of a pregnancy or require a letter from their physician. Some fly with the intention of having their child receive a status nationality like US Citizenship by being born in US airspace.
