Boutique hotels gain new ground in Bangkok

Bangkok is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. While Bangkok has a plethora of choices of hotels running the gamut from very cheap backpacker rooms to ultra luxurious penthouses,  one thing it could be said to be lacking is quirky and unique hotel accommodations. In some of the older parts of the city there can be found some remarkable old architecture and some young entrepreneurs are beginning to use these buildings in an imaginative way. One way they are doing this is by creating unique boutique hotels, which offer guests a quaint and luxurious hotel setting unlike traditional hotels in Bangkok. Boutique hotels in Bangkok in particular are historic, humble, and best of all, quiet and cheap. While these projects are still ongoing, tourists can expect to see more of these hotels in the very near future. For two examples of heritage status buildings that have been transformed into beautiful hotels in Bangkok, take a look at Phraya Palazzo and The Siam, both on the banks of the Chao Phraya River
