On Tuesday, 21 June 2016, the Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok will be hosting a Sabre d’Or Gala Dinner. This formal black tie event, put on by the Thai chapter of the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or will begin with cocktails at 7pm and features a six-course dinner.
The Confrerie du Sabre d’Or is a group that promotes the appreciation of high class food and wine. They also promote the art of using finely sharpened sword to open bottles of chilled Champagne. This art form has existed for more than 2 century’s and is attributed to a French military officer who began the practice by slicing off the cork with his sabre.
The event will be held at the Da Vinci restaurant on the hotel’s fourth floor and will cost B3,950 per person for members, and B4,450 for non-members.
