Design competiton explores future of hotel room layout

The designer competition clearly indicates the change in mind set of people who looks for hotels. Moreover the prize money which was a huge sum clearly indicates how tough the competition is. The jury of the competition had clear idea of change in attitude of people towards hotels and therefore had placed stringent criteria for competition. They had also announced two runners up. We can expect in the near future for competition to heat up in the hotel design marketplace.

- Eurostars Hotel Lab is the first design contest of hotel spaces promoted by a Spanish hotel chain
- Andrei Zerebecky and Lukasz Kos co-founded FOUR O NINE studio in 2011 which won the contest
“The jury emphasised the originality of the project, which avoids the usual layout of the different areas inside a room –sleeping, working, reading areas, etc.- to integrate them in a central island where complementary furniture has been added, only excluding the bathroom area and luggage carrier.”
