You know you’re in for a sweet stay at a new hotel when you’re offered not just a warm welcome upon arrival but also a warm chocolate chip cookie.

That’s how the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok plans to get things off on the right foot for guests. Add stylish accommodations, a range of dining options and a fantastic location right in the heart of the city’s business, leisure and entertainment districts and the experience should get even more satisfying.

Scheduled to open May 1st, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok is actually a multi-phase redesign and refurbishment of the 24-story property formerly known as the Imperial Tara Hotel. 182 guest rooms including 12 suites are receiving a facelift with soothing, muted colors, elegant coffered ceilings and an overall light and airy feel. Technology to help guests connect during their stay will include wired and wireless Internet access and LCD TVs. Suites will offer additional space and enhanced amenities.

Food offerings at the DoubleTree will be a sampling of some of the best dishes of Southeast Asia. Thai and Vietnamese dishes will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as Western offerings. Poolside bar Mosaic will offer Thai and Western specials right off the grill as a live DJ sets the mood.

For fun on site, guests will be able to visit the outdoor rooftop infinity swimming pool overlooking the city. There will also be a complimentary 24-hour fitness center to keep guests fit and active, which is a good thing considering that the Cookie Bar is open from 6am to 11pm and serves a wide selection of cookies, milkshakes, coffee and light meals.

The property sits near The Emporium, a massive shopping and entertainment complex. It’s also close to Benjasiri Park, filled with Thai sculptures as well as tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. Guests can also visit a piece of Thai history at the Kamthieng House, a 160-year old traditional teakwood house run by the Siam Society. Restaurants and nightlife options ranging from the sophisticated to the wild are a short walk or drive away. The rest of the city is easily accessible via the Phrom Pong BTS Skytrain or the Expressway.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sukhumvit Bangkok is a HHonors Reward category 3 hotel.
