Dusit aims high in China

Dusit Internationan, a hospitality chain based in Bangkok, Thailand, plans to have 50 hotels operating in mainland China within the next 3 to 5 years. The chain currently operates 4 hotels in China with another 20 hotels in the pipeline.

Dusit started its operations in China in 2013 and the company notes that about 90% of guests in their hotels in China are domestic. Dusit’s chief operating officer, Lim Boon Kwee, points out that China is still one of the fastest growing economies with annual expansion of around 6.8%.

Other than China, Dusit has projects in the pipeline in another 13 countries including Australia, the Middle East and the Far East. Despite weakness in the global economy, Dusit is on target with its business expansion as well as number of arrivals at their hotels, with declining number of tourists from Europe offset by larger number of Asian guests.
