Pop quiz: what Thai boutique hotel brand’s name translates “joy and happiness”? If you guessed Hansar Hotels & Resorts, you are correct.
Hansar prides itself on seriously personalized yet unpretentious service that is representative of Thai hospitality. Now, the brand is more than doubling its portfolio with the addition of three properties.
With 24 rooms, the Hansar Pranburi will be the most intimate of the three new properties and is scheduled to open in late 2013. Hansar Khao Yai is also set for a 4th quarter 2013 opening with 39 rooms. Hansar Cha-am will boast 104 rooms and will open in late 2014. All three properties are currently undergoing renovations that will elevate their look and design to Hansar Hotel & Resort standards. Designers are focused on blending beauty and function and giving each property its own identity based on location whether it’s in the big city or on the tranquil beach. There’s also a push to use natural, sustainable and locally sourced materials throughout the renovations.
Currently, Hansar Hotels & Resorts has two open and operating properties in Thailand. The Hansar Bangkok is located in the high-end Rajdamri Road neighbourhood. The hotel features large guestrooms and the LUXSA Spa in addition to upscale dining options and an infinity pool peeking over the edge of the hotel. This is one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok (for proof, check out my About page where I name-check it), so I am looking forward to seeing the new properties in the Hansar family. The Hansar Samui is located on a stretch of beachfront in Bophut Bay just ten minutes from the airport. Rooms are oversized and boast handmade furniture, large beds and walk-in rainshowers. In addition, all feature sweeping ocean views.
Hansar Hotels & Resorts have won multiple awards since opening three years ago including a spot on Conde Nast Traveller’s Hot List and Hot Spa and Best Hotel Thailand by the Asia Pacific Hotel Awards. Brand representatives have said they plan to further expand in Thailand in the future.
