June 1 opening set for new Holiday Inn in the heart of Bangkok
Bangkok, a vibrant city of bright colors and sizzling street food, which buzzes twenty four hours a day, adds one more hotel to its sky line with the new Holiday Inn Express in the Sathorn District. Espousing the hotel’s target market, savvy business and tourist travelers looking for value, the comfort and convenience of its location, this hotel is a three and a half star property. In a city already awash with hotel accommodation, the main temptations are free breakfast and Wi-Fi on offer, with it’s downtown central location the next draw card. It is the first Holiday Inn Express in the TCC Hotels Group portfolio.
Since there are no decent photos of this property yet, here is a stunning photo of the Sathorn area taken from the hotel’s Facebook page.
The Sathorn District is named after Sathorn Road and a public transportation canal, Khlong Sathorn, and is bounded by six other districts. Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang Airports are a 30 minute sometimes hair raising and tortuous drive away, whilst the Chongnonsri BTS skytrain station is a mere 3 minute dawdle, any time of the day.
All that Bangkok has to offer is within easy reach such as the “shop to you drop” shopping centers, various dining, bars and entertainment venues. Tourist attractions such as Lumpini Park, Chinatown, and the famous Chatuchak weekend market are all within distance taking an easy BTS sky train ride. A one day unlimited travel ticket on the sky train can be purchased for a mere THB 120. For the business traveler there are many commercial companies and embassies within the area. A tempting seven minute dash from the hotel will put you in Dean & Deluca’s largest store of its brand in Asia. Whilst for the die hard shopping enthusiasts, over 1,500 boutiques and 40 restaurants now inhabit the old international trade port, located 10 minutes downtown from the Saphan Taksin BTS station.
Bangkok is renowned for being home to some amazing temples and in the Sathorn District you will find Wat Yan Nawa built by King Rama the Third, and the fascinating temples Wat Kok Krabue and Wat Kok Khwai to name a few.
