Hyatt Place Phuket announced, making it the third Hyatt property on the island.
UPDATE: This property is now open. Check the newest updated review here.
Hyatt last week announced plans to open a new Hyatt property on the island of Phuket with a Hyatt Place scheduled to open in Patong in 2016. This will be Phuket’s third Hyatt property after the Hyatt Regency Phuket (bookings) which opened in December 2013 and the previously announced Park Hyatt Phuket currently under construction.
Hyatt Place Phuket, Patong will feature 161 guestrooms with balconies, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a restaurant and bar, a business center, and more than 2,400 square feet (225 square meters) of flexible, high-tech meeting/function space. While the hotel will not be a beach-front property, it will only be a short walk from the water front and its position on an elevated piece of land will afford guests panoramic views across the bay.
On a scale of luxuriousness, Hyatt Place sits at the bottom of the list of offerings in the Hyatt family and was introduced in 2006. This is how Hyatt describes Hyatt Place:
“The Hyatt Place brand brings to the upscale select service hotel category the authentic hospitality for which Hyatt is known. Inspired by multitasking travelers’ 24/7 lifestyle, Hyatt Place hotels combine style with casual hospitality. Featuring spacious guestrooms with the Cozy Corner, free Wi-Fi, the 24/7 Gallery Menu, Coffee to Cocktails Bar, and free hot breakfast for guests. The Odds & Ends program also has guests covered with items they may have forgot and can buy, borrow or enjoy for free. Specially trained Gallery Hosts are on hand to offer assistance with everything from directions to check-in to a freshly made meal.”
Hyatt Place Phuket will be managed by an affiliate of Boutique Group of Companies, who currently manage eleven other propertied in Thailand including four Citadines properties in Bangkok, Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit 24, and OZO Pattaya.
Hyatt is currently in the midst of a Thailand love affair with a fairly rapid succession of announcements on new openings for Thailand, which until last year was quite underserved by Hyatt with only two properties, The Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok (my personal sentimental favourite Bangkok hotel), and the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin. Currently in the pipeline are the Park Hyatt Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Bangkok and the Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit.
