Good news for foodies and those who love luxury travel- the upcoming Centara Grand Phratamnak Resort Pattaya has just announced the appointment of Luca Pulese as Executive Chef.
Pulese, originally from Italy, has more than 20 years of experience in high-end destinations such as the Maldives, Bangkok, Beijing and Shanghai. With a range of dining options planned at the resort, Chef Pulese has a lot on his plate as he prepares for the August 2013 soft opening.

If search referral terms and traffic is any indication, The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam, which just opened this past Saturday, June 1, is one of the most highly anticipated hotel openings in Bangkok this year. While not really my style- the shiny brass & marble lobby and large rooms seem destined to be filled with busloads of Chinese tourists- it is a sleek property in one of Bangkok’s hip shopping districts.

The property, set to open in mid-2013, was inspired by the Thai fishing basket known as the kwhaang. The interiors reflect undulating woven basketwork with soft lights and high ceilings.
