Bangkok unveiled it’s long awaited iconic Mahanakhon building this week, officially capturing the tallest building in Thailand title . The Mahanakhon building is a 77-story tower that reaches 1029 feet in height and looks like Godzilla took a swipe out of it. On August 29 2016, a light show was held on the building to celebrate its debut. The building will be used for hotel, retail and residential use with 200 condo units. The Ritz Carlton condos and the Vogue lounge are just some of the big names that call the tower home. Mahanakhon should enjoy its reign as the tallest building in Bangkok while it can, as the Rama IX Super Tower, which is scheduled for completion in 2019 will be even taller at almost twice the size of this one.
Key Points:
“At 1,029 feet, the MahaNakhon is now the tallest building in Thailand. The 77-story tower beats the skyscraper that previously held the title, Baiyoke Tower II, by 33 feet.”
