A bad news/good news update now on the Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok.

First, the bad news: the opening date has been pushed from fall 2013 toFebruary April 1, 2014. The good news: we got a sneak peek at the plans for the interior of the property and it looks like the wait will be worth it.

We already knew the Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok will feature 290 guestrooms, suites and business-class rooms. Now we know the room décor is modern and streamlined. Different types of guestrooms and suites feature different colors ranging from subtle greens to pops of bright blue.

Standard rooms make the most of their 36 square meters by utilizing glass panel walls to enhance the flow from bedroom to bathroom. Junior Suites, which are 56 square meters in size, have floating vanities in the bathroom and deep soaking tubs. 72-square meter Executive Suites feature large corner tubs with televisions recessed above. Spacious Royal Deluxe Suites boast two bedrooms and two bathrooms with sleek pedestal tubs and outdoor balconies.

The hotel’s spa has been named Spa Esc, perhaps a clever play on the computer key to remind travelers to unplug and relax. Renderings of the space show it to be light and airy and decorated in soothing tones. Spa Esc features three single and one couple’s treatment rooms in addition to separate specialty showers, saunas, steam and dressing rooms.

There’s also new information about the range of dining options at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel. The B/sharp lobby bar and B/sweet dessert lounge offers seating for 100 indoors and room for 16 outside along Sukhumvit Road. The all-day restaurant and Internet deli Twenty Seven Bites features a buffet breakfast followed by lunch offerings of Thai, Indian, Japanese and Continental cuisine. Asian flavors can be found at China Table, a teahouse and dim sum restaurant which also features private dining rooms.

Attico, located on the 28th floor of the hotel, specializes in hand-crafted Tuscan food and wine and will only be open for dinner, though private functions for breakfast and lunch will be available. With the Tuscan villa décor and open terrace dining, it looks like they have taken a page out of the book of the ultra chic L ‘Appart atop the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit.
