With so much new construction happening on the beaches of Thailand, it can be easy to overlook what’s going on in other parts of this diverse country. However, that would be a mistake. Case in point- the up and coming and very sophisticated Sala Lanna Chiang Mai. Currently, reservations are being accepted from today April 1st, 2013.
Chiang Mai is located 700 km north of Bangkok in a mountainous region with beautiful temples and exotic wildlife. It’s becoming an increasingly modern and popular city and the steady climb in tourism numbers reflects that. Sala Lanna Chiang Mai is perfectly positioned in the middle of the city on the famous Ping River.
Like the new Sala Rattanakosin property in Bangkok, the Sala Lanna Chiang Mai is an intimate boutique hotel. There are 16 stylish guest rooms including the showcase riverfront 2 bedroom pool villa suite with private pool and river deck. Design plans reveal modern and streamlined décor with natural fabrics and a mostly muted color palate. Rooms feature flat screen televisions with DVD players and sound systems. They’re equipped with USB and iPod docks as well as WIFI. Bathrooms come with bathtubs and rainshowers (except in standard rooms) in addition to hair dryers, robes, slippers and umbrellas.
Food and beverage options include The River, a truly waterfront venue featuring international dishes and Thai favorites, The Roof, an al fresco rooftop bar and lounge, and Italia, a classic Italian eatery located riverside. A rooftop pool provides the perfect place to cool off after a long day of exploring and the hotel’s spa provides treatments poolside or in-room. Hotel staff are more than happy to help guests book exciting excursions such as elephant trekking, river rafting, mountain biking and visits to the Chiang Mai night market as well as the more traditional golf and tennis.
