A new property is moving into Pattaya to cash in on what some believe is an untapped market. Siam@Siam Pattaya will be a four-star property located on the corner of Soi 2 and Second Road in North Pattaya, near Central Festival shopping mall. Developers believe it will stand out amongst other two and three-star properties in the area.
“There is room for four-star hotels due to the resort’s location close to Bangkok and the costs are not that high,” says managing director Kla Kitchakarn. “Pattaya has reinvented itself with a much wider market base.”
The 25-story Siam@Siam Pattaya will feature an energizing pop-art design throughout public and guest spaces. 268 rooms are planned, each with about 34 square meters of space for sleeping, relaxing and planning guests’ next exciting day of adventures in the beach resort town. A prime feature of the hotel is expected to be a roof-top infinity swimming pool boasting sweeping views of the bay. Kitchakarn believes the property’s downtown location will attract both Asian and Russian travelers with a 50-50 booking breakdown between domestic and international visitors. Kitchakarn estimates Siam@Siam Pattaya will need to get a 70% occupancy in order to break even.
This will be the second Siam@Siam property in Thailand. The Siam@Siam Design Hotel and Spa in Bangkok was built as a luxurious, high-service hotel in the heart of the capital city bearing all the hallmarks of a hip boutique hotel. It has 203 rooms with an urban art design centered on modern elements such as concrete, wood and steel. An open-air 11th floor swimming pool is a big draw as are the numerous food options and Spa Ten.
The hotel will open in early 2014 with a soft opening expected for December this year.
The hotel group manages the Crown Lanta on Lanta Island in Krabi province with 83 rooms. It also manages the Mode Sathorn hotel in Bangkok with 200 rooms.
