
Star Alliance has won the highly coveted Best Airline Alliance award at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, 2016. Accepting the honor on behalf of his employees, Mark Schwad, CEO of the Alliance, promised to further invest in modern technology to keep on the improvement curve.
The awards are managed by the international air transport rating organization, Skytrax Research of London, UK – renowned for it’s meticulous work in the industry. The basis of the awards are the comprehensive World Airline surveys, which ran for nearly a year. People from more than 104 different nationalities were included in the survey, covering over 280 international and domestic carriers. The surveys ascertain quality standards across 41 key performance indicators ranging from the airport to on-board experience. In addition, 13 Star Alliance members also won other prominent distinctions. Among them, Singapore Airlines took the third position in the World’s Best Airline category.
