Three Thailand’s islands score strong recognition in the 2016 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Islands

Phuket Island has come to take the second place in Asia and 8th in the world ranking in the 2016 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Islands.

The other two Thailand’s popular southern islands to find a place in the top spot in Asia are Samui (3rd) and Tao (4th).

The rankings gave a clear indication of the world’s leading islands that is decided after taking into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels and restaurants for a period of one year, in addition to traveller booking interest that is recorded on TripAdvisor.

Noting that the Traveller’s Choice Islands were favourites of the TripAdvisor community, thanks to the breathtaking beaches and popular hotels and restaurants, Ms. Barbara Messing, TripAdvisor chief Marketing Officer, said the booking data showed that “bargain hunters” can look to save by preferring the leading islands during the shoulder season.
