U Sukhumvit Bangkok – playing the long(time) game

Deluxe room at U Sukhumvit Bangkok

U Sukhumvit Bangkok ups the ante with guaranteed 24 hour use of room- no matter what time you check-in

It may seem like an April Fools joke, but U Sukhumvit, which opened April 1, offers guests 24 hours use of guest rooms regardless of what time you check in. That means if you check in at 7pm, you get to stay until 7pm the day of checkout. Being a Hotel Otaku™ I always try to get as much use out of a room as possible. At places where you have status in their frequent guest program it isn’t that difficult to secure a “late checkout” but the latest you can typically get is 4pm, (3pm in most cases). At the new 4 star U Sukhumvit, as well as other U properties throughout Thailand (see below), there is no need to worry about getting your money’s worth.

U Choose

The 24 hour use of room is part of the innovative U Choose program which also includes “Whenever/ Wherever Breakfast“, which, as the name suggests, means that Photos of the bathroom and pools at U Sukhumvit Bangkok you can order and eat breakfast at any time wherever you want in the hotel. (The “wherever” part is within reason I would imagine. Try ordering it in the car park and see how that goes.)

As part of the U Choose program, guests also have a choice of pillows, mini bar items, soaps, music and a selection of teas, which they can specify at the time of booking or once they have arrived at the hotel.

Rooms

U Sukhumvit Bangkok  was designed by Chilean born and Danish based Marco Evaristti of Evaristti Studios and offers 82 guest rooms: 62 Superior rooms at 28~32 square meters, and 20 Deluxe King rooms at 38 square meters. All rooms feature a rain shower, free wifi, a coffee percolator as well as all the other stuff you would expect from a hotel of this rank.

Other facilities at U Sukhumvit Bangkok  include a rooftop swimming pool, fitness center, 24 hour room service, a library as well as the free use of bicycles for all guests, ideal for a ride to nearby Chuwit gardens or Benjakiti Park.
